The President of the Portuguese Republic visits Mota‑Engil project in Mozambique

The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, made an official visit to Mozambique and was keen to visit an important project of Mota-Engil, the Platinum Building, in Maputo. On this visit, the President of the Republic was welcomed by António Mota, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mota-Engil Group, Manuel Mota, CEO of Mota-Engil Africa, and Aníbal Leite, Executive Director of Mota-Engil Mozambique.António Mota was very satisfied with the President’s visit and feels that it is “a recognition of the value of Portuguese engineering”. For Manuel Mota, “This is a moment of great pride for Mota-Engil and comes at a very important time for the country, because it signals the commitment of Portuguese investors in the Mozambique market”.

The Platinum Building will be one of the largest in Maputo, with around 41,000 m² and 98 metres high, and is designed for office, housing and retail use. Construction of the Platinum Building was begun in March 2014 and should be completed in the second half of this year.
