Las Bambas


Over 2 million cubic meters of excavation and 8 million cubic meters of filling, including execution of partition walls, drainage system, grouting and ancillary works, Las Bambas Mine has a 35,000 hectares area and is located 75 km from Cusco, between Cotabambas and Grau. With a processing capacity of 140,000 tons of ore per day, it is exploited by a subsidiary of Xstrata Copper, an Australian multinational which is the world’s 4th largest copper producer.
