Mota-Engil Mexico wins concession contracts and other new contracts amounting to 680 million euros

With the awarding’s announced, Mota-Engil Mexico has reached a recordbreaking order book worth 1 billion euros.

Between May and June this year Mota-Engil Mexico was awarded four new contracts which together represent a significant increase in the company order book, while simultaneously contributing to the Mota-Engil Latin America strategic objective of expanding by means of business diversification.

The Secretariat of Communications and Transport awarded to the consortium led by Mota-Engil Mexico a concession contract for a period of 30 years for the construction, operation, conservation and maintenance of 128 kilometres of the Cardel–Poza Rica motorway, in the State of Veracruz. The contract for its design and construction is worth 250 million euros.

Mota-Engil Mexico, through its subsidiary company GISA – Gestión e Innovacción en Servicios Ambientales, S.A. de CV, is to operate a concession contract for 20 years for the collection of urban solid Waste in the city of León in the state of Guanajuato. This contract is the second one awarded to the company, following the contract awarded in 2013 in Baja California, and consolidates the company’s position in this field of business in the Mexican market.

The consortium lead by Mota-Engil Mexico has been awarded the contract for the building of the first and second stage of the light railway system in Guanajuato in the state of Jalisco and is worth a total of 430 million euros.

With the awarding’s announced, Mota-Engil Mexico has reached a record-breaking order book worth 1 billion euros, a remarkable fact in a market where Mota-Engil only made its debut six years ago.
