World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024 

Global Safety Stand Down unites 54,000 employees to reinforce commitment to safety 

In 2024, Mota-Engil started the year with the Global Safety Stand Down initiative carried out in 297 projects. All operations, globally, were suspended, and all employees stopped for one hour to emphasize the importance of safety. 

Among these, we highlight the following projects: 

• Tren Maya Tulum – Akumal Project/Contract (ME Mexico), involving 3012 employees; 
• Eco-Eburnie Project/Contract, involving 2600 employees; 
• ME Ativ Project/Contract, involving 1052 employees. 

Throughout this year, we will continue to pave the way forward together with some of the following initiatives: 

• Disease prevention programs; 
• Psychological support; 
• Near misses analysis; 
• Recognition and accountability for non-compliance.
