Recycling Line
Among the various initiatives to promote recycling carried out by EGF in Portugal, the Recycling Line stands out, a public, free and national service created in 2021 to provide effective responses to citizens, namely to respond to doubts, requests for information, suggestions, complaints, compliments and service requests related to the collection and treatment of urban waste.

Rehabilitation of the former Industrial Slaughterhouse of Porto
Project by Emerge – Real Estate Developers, the Rehabilitation of the former Industrial Slaughterhouse of Porto, in Portugal, is taking place to (re)adapt, (re)convert, (re)qualify, renovate and restore the existing buildings with the aim of obtaining multidisciplinary equipment, taking advantage of the high potential of the site.

Incorporation of ballast removed from the railway track
In the Beira Alta Line Project (MEEC/MERW project), in Mangualde, Portugal, 104,086 tons of ballast removed from the railway track were incorporated. This material underwent a crushing operation to be incorporated into the construction site and was reused in the crowning layer, in technical blocks, paving and drains. The final destination of this material would have been the valorization by an external entity or elimination.

Reforestation and ecosystem recovery
The Corvaceira project, by Mota-Engil ATIV, has as its long-term objective the recovery of 5,000 hectares of forest in mainland Portugal, through reforestation and ecosystem recovery projects. The carbon sequestration project is scheduled to have a minimum duration of 40 years. To achieve this goal, 72,583 trees will be planted, chosen in a mixed way, aiming to maximize biodiversity and promote ecosystem resilience.
