In alignment and consultation with the sustainability strategy and policies of the Mota-Engil Group, in which the valorization of the human factor is an aspect of capital importance, the "Mota-Engil Community" program, through the various lines of support that compose it, seeks to meet the main needs faced by workers and their families with lower incomes and which should therefore deserve special attention.

Engineers for a Day
In order to reinforce its commitment to gender equality and to contribute to the dissemination of engineering – deconstructing the idea that these are male domains – Mota-Engil collaborated with the project "Engineers for a Day", which is under the coordination of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG). in conjunction with the Portuguese Charter for Diversity (APPDI), Instituto Superior Técnico and the Order of Engineers.

Empower
In Africa, in 2023, specifically in the Africa region, a proximity work was started with a set of local teams in which each market, aware of its own reality, formed a work team and outlined its own action plan, with a view to empowering local staff, which is currently being implemented and monitored.

WoMEn Power
Purposely designed to raise awareness of the issue of gender equality, Mota-Engil carried out, in 2023, and in partnership with Porto Business School, the WoMEn Power initiative specifically aimed at the Group's female employees.

WoMEn Leaders Program
In 2023, Mota-Engil developed the WoMEn Leaders program, in partnership with Porto Business School. This is a pioneering program that aims to promote the acceleration of leadership skills, annually training a group of high-potential women from the Group's various geographies and businesses, with the appetite to take on short/medium term functions with this framework.

Health promotion and awareness campaigns for disease prevention
With the aim of raising awareness among employees on the topics of HIV, malaria, yellow fever, heart, prostate cancer, diabetes and lung diseases, Mota-Engil carried out campaigns in several geographies: Côte d'Ivoire, Mexico and Mozambique.

Promotion and awareness of mental health and well-being
Mental health is a fundamental component of general health and well-being. In this sense, Mota-Engil celebrated Mental Health Day in Peru, developed awareness-raising actions in Mexico and Mozambique in order to raise awareness of this issue and provided psychotherapy consultations in the workplace in Mozambique.

Global Safety Stand-Down Mining
In response to a fatal accident that occurred in the mining area, a "Global Safety Stand-Down – Mining" action was promoted. This initiative decreed a date on which all Mota-Engil mining projects would carry out a one-hour stoppage of operation.

SHEQ Global Committee – 6th Edition
The Global SHEQ Committee is a practice established several years ago in the Mota-Engil Group, with the aim of promoting a moment of joint reflection with the SHEQ Directors of all companies in the Group's various Business Units.
