Mota-Engil África has new projects totalling 500 million euros

Mota-Engil secured new contracts in the region at the end of the first half of the year in the amount of 500 million euros, divided among the various markets such as Angola, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Ghana.

Noteworthy among the projects announced is the highway renovation in three lots over a stretch of approximately 250 kilometres in Zambia. This contract is worth 118.5 million euros and has the financial backing of the European Union; it is also the first contract for Mota-Engil in this country.

The Group began work in Ghana after securing a 70-million euro contract for protection of a 200 kilometres stretch of sea coast.

With these contracts, Mota-Engil secures an unprecedented order book close to 1,800 million euros and meets the “Ambition 2.0” strategic plan which establishes the strengthening of operations in Africa as a priority of the Group’s internationalization Plan.
