INDAQUA signs contract with the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis

INDAQUA signed a contract with the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis for managing the public services of water supply and collection, waste water treatment and disposal in the municipality for the next 30 years.

The contract signed between the company and the municipality implies 18 million euros worth infrastructure investment along the164 kilometres of the networks now under management of the concessionary company and the construction of a new WWTP.

Pedro Montalvão, Chairman of the Board of Directors of INDAQUA, said it is “a very demanding project, that will be phased, with an initial coverage rate of 70% in water and 42% in sanitation collection” where it is intended to safeguard the final user “minimizing rates and always aligned with the Municipality in order to solve the municipality’s environmental problem.”

The Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis will become INDAQUA’s sixth concession, joining the municipalities of Fafe, Santa Maria da Feira, Matosinhos, Vila do Conde and Santo Tirso/Trofa, besides the São João da Madeira Waters municipal company where the company has a stake.
