Mota-Engil Indústria e Inovação supports internationalisation of national SMEs

Mota-Engil Indústria e Inovação (MEII), the new business area of the Mota-Engil Group, AICEP and Caixa Geral de Depósitos signed a Partnership Agreement on 4th March to define the involvement of these three entities in the financial and operational support to national SMEs. The partnership agreement will provide 300 million euros during the first three years of the project. 

This initiative will also allow the Portuguese SMEs of the industrial sector to invest in growth within external markets, namely in more than ten markets where the Mota-Engil Group is present.The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mota-Engil Group, António Mota, stressed the importance of the Project not only for the developers but also for the country. “The importance stems not only from the results that this project may achieve but specially from what it will represent for the larger national economic groups with greater international experience”, underlined António Mota.

Within the scope of this partnership the countries in which Mota-Engil is operating will be favoured so as to ensure an international facilities network within these markets and the reinforcement of management skills (available through local Mota-Engil Group structures) and financial capacity for the investment that the institutional partners will assume.  Amongst the sectors that will be favoured one can find the moulds, glass, pharmaceuticals, textile, cutlery and / or footwear.  The partnership proposals may be presented directly to  Mota-Engil Indústria e Inovação.
