Valorsul – Valorização e Tratamento de Resíduos Sólidos das Regiões de Lisboa e do Oeste, S.A. recovers approximately 950 thousand tons of municipal waste produced, per year, in 19 municipalities of the Great Lisbon area, i.e. , over one fifth of the household waste produced in Portugal. The waste is treated and recovered by this concessionaire of EGF through a modern system of integrated management of municipal waste appropriate to the growth and composition of municipal waste. Valorsul’s mission is to take the highest value from waste and packages we don’t use with the purpose of converting waste in valuable goods for society, such as compost for agriculture, aggregate for construction and even electrical power.
