Energy Recovery

In Mexico, the Mota-Engil Group was the first private operator in the energy production sector through Generadora Fénix, which started operating in 2015. The company holds a 30 year concession to operate and maintain five hydroelectric plants: Necaxa, Tepexic, Patla, Alameda and Lerma and 10 mini hydroelectric plants with a total installed power of approximately 300 MW, having the possibility of building the new thermal and hydraulic facilities that may reach approximately 2,000 MW.

In Portugal, the Mota-Engil Group, through EGF, develops its activity in waste processing and recovery, being leader in Waste-to-Energy. Having state-of-the-art technology, EGF has composting plants, Mechanical treatment plants, and anaerobic digestion plants to capture biogas, also counting with an energy recovery plant with 662,000 t/year capacity in Valorsul.
